OTA or Local – DigiTourShow Daily #006

Whist Online Travel Agencies (OTA’s) are very important, we are seeing a shift back to more localised marketing.

OTA’s provide a large database of users that could potentially see your product so I would always recommend utilising them but there lies the problem. OTA’s can’t promote every tour from the many they have on their site so the chances of someone finding your tour can be slim.

The user would need to be very specific and even then you may have many of your competitor’s products on their so you would be competing on price from the get go before they can read or view how awesome your product is.

By having your own website and a marketing strategy that is specifically tailored to your products, destination and one that tells a story and sells your experience, you are far more likely to be found and persuade the user to make a purchase.
