A little background information about Jessica
Jessica specialises in website projects and has a passion for all-things-organisation. In her spare time, Jessica can be found off the beaten track, in an independent cafe, probably with her laptop out and a notepad by her side.
What’s the best place you’ve ever visited?
I was unexpectedly blown away by Amsterdam. While the shadier side is possibly what encourages some tourists, I love the fact that Amsterdam has more museums and attractions per square mile than any other European city. The stunning architecture, canals, and windmills make it an unforgettable city, and it’s only a 95-minute plane ride away! What's not to love?
With unlimited budget, where would you love to travel?
Working within the tourism sector, I get to read, research, and fantasise about world travel all day long. I have far-reaching aspirations to travel to the Peruvian Andes, and I’d also love to go paddle-boarding in some of Slovenia’s gorgeous lakes.
What attracted you to the digital marketing industry?
It was a twisting path to the marketing industry: my first step was project managing web development projects and this led to other digital projects over time. However, my love for all-things-travel lead me to TMA, where my knowledge and understanding of the digital marketing sector has blossomed. I’ve found that the relationships between marketing and website development are so closely interlinked that you cannot have one without the other.
Which brand do you most admire?
I tend to look for innovative campaigns more than the brands themselves. For individual campaigns, there are two that really caught my eye over the past few years: ‘Sheep with a View’ – an award-winning campaign lead by Norway’s tourism association that promoted the country by showing Norway from an animal’s perspective; and ‘Try Before you Buy’ – Thomas Cook’s virtual reality experience. Thomas Cook was one of the first travel companies to launch a virtual reality experience and it was really successful.
What’s the best thing about working as TMA’s Managing Director?
Every day, I have the pleasure to meet, help, and manage a range of interesting people. I like that TMA is highly specialised in tourism marketing, and that we hone our skills, knowledge, and resources to make sure each campaign is as unique as each of our clients. The process of learning and experimenting on each campaign makes every day exciting and ensures I’m never bored! I can honestly say there is never a dull moment.
